How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the GAO Director, you, as the Partnerships Specialist – Humanitarian Action, will lead engagement with state and institutional donors on humanitarian contexts in GAO. You will bridge crisis analysis, response readiness, and partner-facing narrative development, and you will mobilize flexible funding while safeguarding UNICEF’s strategic positioning.

The purpose:

Under the supervision of the GAO Director, the Partnerships Specialist – Humanitarian Action will lead engagement with state and institutional donors on humanitarian contexts in GAO. The incumbent will bridge crisis analysis, response readiness, and partner-facing narrative development to mobilize flexible funding while safeguarding UNICEF’s strategic positioning.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

Education: Advanced university degree in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.

Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian political analysis, donor engagement or a related field.
Proven experience in geopolitical and conflict analysis, as well as risk-informed narrative development and scenario planning.

Strong analytical and drafting skills, with ability to produce concise leadership-ready briefs.
Experience in early warning early action, contingency planning/preparedness is a strong asset.
Capacity in humanitarian diplomacy and strategic donor positioning.
Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Skills: The role requires strong skills in strategic positioning, analytical reporting, coordination, stakeholder management, drafting, and political analysis to support informed decision-making and effective engagement.

Language Requirements: Fluency in Arabic and English languages are required.
Desirables:

Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Development, contingency planning, Contingency preparedness and experience in early warning early action is a strong asset.
Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
